Sunshine and good times!
We had a marvellous time last week at Cranhill Porridge & Play! It was a beautiful sunny day and we really enjoyed having a good dance together and showing each other all our cool dance moves! We had some new friends who came along and we all sang Icker-Ickeroooo at the tops of our voices too!
Then, in the lush green grass we spied a bag of marvellous dressing up clothes and all got dressed up in some amazing colourful outfits. Steven got a great photo of us all before we began our exciting adventure heading off into the magical forest. I say magical because, pretty soon, we met some fabulous grannies in the middle of the forest! There was the wonderful Granny Genesis, who lived in a forest cave, she said she didn’t do much, just worked and ate porridge!
Then as we walked, under the cherry blossom trees we heard the sound of singing and looked up to see the flying Granny Solin. She was soaring across the rainbowed sky surrounded by butterflies! She told us she loves to eat burgers and actually lives on the sun! Which she said was actually quite cold! (Amazing!)
Then from behind a huge willow tree appeared Ahmad, a big strong wolf who told us he lives in a cave & he likes to eat pizza! It turned out he lives He lives next-door to Granny Shahd – we just caught a glimpse of her busily cooking her favourite Fishfingers on her fire from between the trees!
This was turning out to be such a brilliant day and the forest seemed to hold so many exciting surprises, we wondered who we might bump into next! We adventured on, passed a fast flowing river that curved and snaked through the trees, further and further into the forest until we found a strong wood house which we discovered belonged to Granny Mohammed! Granny Mohammed told us how much she likes eating chocolate cake, but definitely not porridge!
By this time we were all very hungry from our travels. We were hoping for a wee snack of some kind, fortunately there was plenty of chocolate cake to go around as Granny Mohammed seemed to have a huge supply – so we all had a piece and it was just delicious!
Full and happy, we thanked Granny M and journeyed on over the bridge and into a glade of orange flowers where Granny Bunny Carrot sat peeling carrots. She had recently met Granny Silin, a lonely granny in the woods and invited her round for soup. She welcomed us into her garden. She explained she preferred to eat carrots and broccoli soup and I noticed she had a huge store of them in a large shed behind her bamboo chair!
By this time it was getting late, so we waved goodbye to the two kind soup-loving grannies and started to head back across the bridge and through the forest where Stella spied the rainbow again and Jihad loved smelling the flowers. Pela saw a Daddy Lion fish in the water and Jan found a Nerf football! When we were nearly home Ahmad told us that his favourite part was meeting a new friend on our adventures – which we all thought was just wonderful. What a great end to a great day!
Next week is the last Cranhill Porridge & Play for a while so hope to see you there for the exhibition & a nice feast! See you next week!
Sarah, Andre & Steven 😉
See you soon!
