Fabulous characters and hungry sea creatures!

What a marvellous time we all had at Cranhill this week! We all had a great dance!

Then we wrote love letters to our special people – but we dropped them & someone must have picked them up and put them in their pocket!

We created some fabulous costumes to become our favourite characters: Ryan was a Tentacle Octopus from the ocean who liked to eat people in boats! Silin was a very Ancient Old Granny who had travelled all the way from Greece and liked to eat strawberries. We encountered a very clever Businessman called Ahmad who sold fancy suits. His business was called Suits Ahmad and if you ever need a suit for a special occasion, his suits are definitely the best! Then, the glamorous Aveen, who turned out to be a famous actress, all the way from Hollywood! She told us she was in the film Titanic! Then we realised that of course – we recognised her! It was so exciting to meet her! Then we bumped into another granny who lived nearby called Amber. She was a granny with the superpower of Invisibility and insisted that she must have some jelly pudding. Her sister Ellie was more of a Sleeping Granny and says she always falls asleep. We discovered this is because she puts a sleeping potion in her jelly!

As we neared the forest we met a talented artist named Shahd from Glasgow who draws the most amazing houses and further on we found Yasna the brave Mermaid who likes to go swimming and eats jellyfish! Her neighbour was a rather cantankerous old granny called Jan who had a broomstick and liked to hit people!

We all looked spectacular in our fancy outfits as we ran through the forest in the sunshine!

And then I remembered the Magic Ball was still in my pocket. Everyone helped blow it up and sing the special words. We wanted to visit so many places and wondered where we would eventually end up ……. We landed on a golden sandy beach, on the edge of the huge ocean. We ran excitedly to the water, feeling the warm sunshine on our faces, where we met a mermaid. We all swam into the sea with her and listened to the hungry seagulls squawking and the sound of the waves. We saw fish jumping and jellyfish of all colours. It felt so warm in the sea as we tried out different swimming strokes, surfing the waves.

Suddenly, a head appeared, bobbing above the waves and we realised it was a sea-lion. We found out his name was Daniel and noticed he was rubbing his tummy. Daniel was definitely hungry and we were wondering what to feed him. We asked politely and he smiled and said in Sea Lion language that he loved Apples and Cake. We fed him until he was full and happy and then we swam deep down underwater to see what else we could find. Under the surface of the gentle waves we found a huge Megaladon and a tiny starfish that sparkled under the sea. There were many more jellyfish floating around us but then a shark chased us away and we quickly swam to the surface and back to the soft dry sand. Luckily, Andre found the Magic Ball again, and we made it home, just in time for some delicious food because by now , we were all very hungry travellers! The good thing was, we still each had a tiny piece of the Magic Ball in our pockets so if any of us ever want to go off on another adventure – we can!

See you next week!
