Continuing Professional Development
Storyplay CPD – A practical introduction to Licketyspit’s drama-led play approach.
Licketyspit – opening doors to imaginary playworlds to unlocking the limitless possibilities of children.
Licketyspit’s Storyplay approach empowers and enables children by embedding a rich story-based repertoire of games, rhymes, songs and imaginary play activities into their daily life. This CPD training offers those working with children a fantastic resource and renewed understanding of their unique creative capacity to support children’s development through play.
Licketyspit Continuing Professional Development will:
– Develop your skills in the delivery of drama-led play with children
– Introduce you to the Lickety Playcard repertoire – a toolkit of games, rhymes songs and imaginary play activities, that make it easy to facilitate successful group play
– Provide ideas for supporting children to overcome barriers to full participation
– Provide a framework for facilitating intergenerational play with families
– Provide an opportunity for networking and experience sharing
“I am normally very reserved during any kind of drama CPD, however I really enjoyed working with Licketyspit and have discovered that within this environment I felt totally at ease. I found myself enjoying every minute of them being here… Thank you Licketyspit – you have changed my outlook!” Child Development Officer, Glasgow.
“Do you know what’s really inspiring, it takes me back to my teacher training, learning about really engaging with the children – it’s so inspiring!” Child Development Officer.
Training is delivered by Licketyspit Artistic Director/CEO Virginia Radcliffe, a leading early years theatre practitioner, actor, director and children’s playwright.
“The work of Licketyspit (LicketyLeap) is of a depth and calibre, which has the kind of quality which is rarely found. It now needs to become part of practice in every group setting working with children 3-7 years. The more parents and practitioners understand and act on the work of Licketyspit, the more young children will be given educational experiences which will serve them well for the rest of their lives.” – Professor Tina Bruce CBE, Roehampton Institute & Froebel Trust & Licketyspit Patron.
