Another great day in Bridgeton!

Another great day in Bridgeton!

We arrived with our dancing shoes on and got the party started! There were some amazing moves on the dance floor – great energy all round. Once we were ready and warmed up, we played the Funky Chicken and met some quirky animals!

Lin became a Scary Butterfly, Yaseen was a Scary T-Rex & Rasha turned into a Roaring Dinosaur! Then, we had some angry animals… Ahyan became an Angry Bird, Sola showed us an Angry Crocodile, Mohammad became an Angry Cat and Arafa was an Angry Tiger! Then, Miia became a Crazy Bunny & Lukas showed us the Flying Gorilla! After that, Lexi & Leeanne became a Lazy Sloth whilst Zainah became a Happy Cat.

After that, we sang some lovely songs together. We love to sing in Bridgeton!! First we sang Grandma, Grandma (an absolute classic that we all love!). Then, we sang a new song for this group – Ickerickeroo! This song goes through the body parts but it uses Scottish words! You’ve got brain boxes, lug listeners, ee-peepers and loads more! That’s what they told me when I went to school

After some lovely songs we decided to do some dressing up!! We dressed up as monsters and there were some really scary monsters around! But it’s okay, it turns out that they aren’t monsters… they’re actually trees. Although I heard a rumour that when granny turns around, they start to move!! That’s what happens when you play Monsters’ Footsteps.

We met some interesting grannies! We met Granny Pumpkinseed (Cami) who lives in the supermarket and likes making porridge. Granny Zainah who lives in a castle told us her favourite food is cereal. Granny Dua and Granny Dinosaur (Soba & Yaseen) said they live in the trees and make tree houses, tree castles and tree noodles! It must be a lot of work turning trees into all of those! Next we met Granny Sola who lives in the forest. She plays with dancing snowmen – she must be using magic to get those snowmen to dance!

Her favourite breakfast is mackerel! Granny Mohammed and Granny Maab live with mummy. They said their favourite food is soup! After the monsters scared all the grannies, we all sat down and enjoyed some lovely food together. Lots of lovely fruit as well as lentil, sweet potato and carrot soup – delicious!!

Thanks again to everyone who came. We can’t wait to play with all of you again next week for the Porridge & Play Bridgeton celebration!!

Lots of love,

Steven, Cami & Andre

We almost always do ‘Reflective drawing’ at the end of a Storyplay session. It’s nice to relax and draw & think about what we’ve all done & how we feel about it.

Reflective drawing isn’t about doing a ‘good’ drawing – it’s about drawing whatever comes into your head when you think about what you’ve just done.

But as you draw you realise more about what you thought or imagined in the session. And it’s great to share that with everyone & hear what they thought! So many things go on in Storyplay!

Here are our Reflective Drawings from this week! Below is some of what we said!
