Porridge & Play Week 1 at Bridgeton St Francis in the East!

Porridge & Play Bridgeton 2024

Find out what the Bridgeton Group did during our Porridge & Play Session at St. Francis in the East!

Friday 3rd May 2024

We are back in Bridgeton – playing with new and old friends!

We had such a lovely time in Bridgeton where we got to see some old friends and play with some new ones!

First, we warmed up with Big as a Bear – the energy was amazing!

Then we met some funky chickens. Anastasia introduced us to the Big Bear, Leeane showed us the Slithering Snake, William found a Scary Owl! Mohammed helped the Shy Monkey and Arafa met a Scary Donkey! Lin showed us the Buzzing Bee, Sola gave us a Neighing Horse, Mohammed met a Happy Dog and Hanan ran into a Scary Tiger! & many more!

Next, we flew up high into the sky in our flying balloons! Our balloons were loads of different colours – blue, green, pink, and rainbow – just to name a few!

We flew high above Glasgow and saw some amazing things. We saw a boat without anyone on it!! Well, actually there was a tiny pirate on board sailing by himself. Then we saw a submarine with a big Bride on it! (What a special day for her) Then, we got a bit tired so we flew down for some ice cream. All the flavours you could want – chocolate chip, strawberry and even pink!!

Then we flew all around the world and we ended up in a huge forest filled with dancing monkeys. All that travelling made us even more tired but luckily we found some delicious bread in the forest!!

Then we met some fabulous witches! We met Witchy Arafa from Sudan who had travelled by boat and has a cat named Argumen! And Witchy Mohammed who travelled by slide!- His favourite thing is to cook Asida, a delicious Sudanese dish (I want to try it so much!!).

After that, we met Witchy Malek who swims and eats soup and her pal Witchy Rasha who did some amazing magic tricks! There were so many amazing witches who had travelled to Maryhill from all over the world in all their finery!

After meeting all these amazing witches, we played Witches Fingers which was so fun and full of energy! Playing with Bridgeton Witches is always so magical

After all our adventures, we relaxed with a nice meal. We had lentil, leek, and carrot soup as well as a selection of fresh fruit… and even more bread! Yum yum!

– Steven, Cami, Andre & Virginia!

Thanks again to everyone who came – can’t wait to do it all again next week!!
