Mermaids, monsters and… grannies!!
Porridge & Play Whiteinch Week 2
Wednesday 19th October 2022
What marvellous adventures we had today!
After meeting Ambreen’s Angry Lion, Zofia’s Funny Mermaid and Violet’s Angry Crocodile, we found ourselves in the company of some very fashionable Grannies, who absolutely loved their food!
Some Grannies love their food
Granny Kouser told us how she loved to go to Ireland to look at scenery and eat chips.
Granny Selina said she preferred to eat ham with chips and enjoyed living in her flat of bricks.
Granny Gemma, on the other hand, liked to go to the hills and eat peanut butter sandwiches and Granny Hunter was a big fan of chips and fish fingers.
Sounds yummy, grannies!
We also had the pleasure of meeting the intrepid explorer Granny Gemma, who had been to see rainbow coloured dinosaurs
And Granny Ellie, who lived in a house of vines and made Daisy Cakes.
Look out for the trees!
It wasn’t long though, before we found ourselves in a huge forest where it’s said that sometimes, when grannies aren’t looking, the trees start to turn into Monsters!!!
Well, I did manage to chat to a few of those grannies and it turned out that they were very resourceful and brave and not scared of Silly Tree Monsters at all!
Granny Ellie told me she could actually turn trees into flowers, so she was safe. Granny Gemma just cracked on with making her chocolate sandwiches and Granny Frankey actually had a bunker in his basement where he could go to eat Pepperoni Pizza, which he loved!
So, Grannies 10, Silly Tree Monster 0!
Once we’d found our way out of the forest and found the key to the secret box that had the Magic Ball in it.
Magic Ball, Magic Ball
Ellie managed to unlock the box and retrieve the Magic Ball! I’m so glad she did, as we went on the most amazing journey to the beach where among other underwater creatures, Hunter saw a shark and Zofia, a jelly-fish.
We discovered that Ellie was living in a copper castle which we all swam to and on the way we saw sharks and jellyfish.
We quickly found out that Ellie was Queen Mermaid with mermaid servants and as she sat on her throne, her sister Zofia sat proudly next to her.
She told us they collect shells to make powerful wands. The castle was huge and cold and suddenly we were all very hungry and feasted on all the treats our friends had in their pockets.
Luckily, Jimmy had Popcorn, Selina had pizza, Hunter had bananas & apples.
Amazingly, Ricky had air and Frankey, some delicious Oreo Ice-cream.
See you next time Whiteinch!
