LicketyLeap!
firing children's imagination

Lickety – anyone – anything - anywhere, we can imagine!
A new interactive theatre experience for 3-5 year olds.
This is a new project we are developing this Autumn in association with the Brunton Theatre and Glasgow city council. LicketyLeap has been inspired by the drama workshops we did with children in development for our recent show, Heelie-go-Leerie (Head over heels).
Exploring ideas for Heelie-go-Leerie we and the children played games, sang songs, dressed up & developed characters and had imaginary adventures. Although frequently chaotic, these dramas were also joyeous, as the children completely immersed themselves in the drama individually and collectively. This project is an attempt to enable that experience to become a satisfying, surprising, empowering and memorable theatre experience.
Children often say they would like to come on stage and be in our shows,
LicketyLeap! is the show where at last they can!
“I loved the going to the moon bit. I loved doing the witch game. I loved watching the whole bit of the show Heelie go Leerie” (4 yr old)
“a truly rich and original children's theatre experience…the whole audience is charmed, touched and just slightly changed. Joyce Macmillan, THE SCOTSMAN on Heelie-go-Leerie****
Our school have just been to your show today in Peebles and we thought it was fabulous. We really loved the energy and sheer imagination - it totally captivated the children. You know your audience very well! - teacher Heelie-go-Leerie’08
"I would just like to tell you that as well as enjoying the show, my daughters have had a great 'Heelie go Leerie' time since coming home ! They have played with the cut-outs and made junk dens for them; they have been into space and they have been singing the songs and making up rhymes. We were perhaps not as responsive as you would have liked but we have be very noisy at home!” Parent
